The global race to create images using artificial intelligence has pushed Adobe developers to create their own version, equal to and even better than the competition.
Adobe's advantages in this area are significant, as they have extensive experience in image processing, existing software, human resources for developing new models, and using Adobe Stock to sample and learn the artificial intelligence engine.
Adobe Firefly is Adobe's new tool, which acts as a website that allows the use of text to guide images. In addition, Adobe has added an interface within its software for use in artificial intelligence tools.
Before delving into the 'Generative Fill' tool, it is important to note that today this tool uses the first version of Adobe Firefly, which is limited to a resolution of 1024×1024, while on the site you can create images in the later version, 'Firefly Image 2', and among its many advantages it allows creating images with a resolution of 2048×2048.
In the beta version of Photoshop you can find the Generative Image tool that uses Firefly Image 2, this tool also allows all the options available on the site straight from the software.
Photoshop's generative fill saves designers many hours without pruning.
To make use of it we need to select a specific area from the image we want to change, under the selection area a panel will float where we can click generative fill. If you don't see this window, you can open it by clicking Window > Contextual Task Bar
